Addison Gill, 16, has walked the runways of Paris and Milan. The Grade 11 honours student at Assumption College School in Brantford was named Best New Face in Canada at the P&G Beauty Awards in the fall. Last year, Gill, who lives in Caledonia, south of Hamilton, also won the V magazine/Supreme Model Search. Gill has been photographed for Elle Canada, Flare and Teen Vogue. "I couldn't have done anything without my family," she says. Gill is photographed with a card she keeps taped on her wall. It reads: "It's okay to dream big."

How did you get into modelling? Addison Gill - “I got started through Sutherland Models in Toronto. They worked closely with Chantale Nadeau, my development agent, who is based in Toronto as well. Addison Gill was born in December 7, 1992 and a native of Toronto, Canada. Since grade school, Addison was already beginning to spin modeling dreams in her head. Addison Gill was an avid fan of TV modeling shows. Addison Gill joined and lost the Lime Ridge Mall contest twice but that didn’t stop her modeling instinct. Following her dreams of making her mark in the glitzy fashion scene, Addison Gill joined Chantale Nadeau model search of the Toronto-based agency at the age of 14. Addison Gill emerged a lusciously adorable winner and soon enough, the door to the glittery world of fashion opened up wide for her eye-catching presence.

True enough, Addison Gill withstood the rigorous three days of interviews and test shots in New York as one of the six finalists during the renowned V-Magazine Supreme Model Search. Her classic beauty, combined with fierce determination and grounded maturity paved her path to victory and Addison Gill was proclaimed winner among the 1,500 who joined worldwide. Once again, Canada has topped this model search, as Addison Gill follows the footsteps of the previous year’s winner, Canadian Amanda Laine.

As part of her prize, Addison Gill was signed up with Supreme Management in New York and its sister agency, Women Management in Milan for a three-year contract. Addison Gill also earned an appearance at the New York Fashion Week. From there, opportunities came flooding her way and her future as a top model grew brighter with every project.

Addison Gill became the envy of many new models when Addison Gill debuted exclusively in the fall collection of fashion icon Calvin Klein in New York. Landing in a Calvin Klein production is considered a lucky break for young models who want to jumpstart their career, with the brilliant directorial duo Maida and Rami on the helm. In the first season alone, Addison Gill strutted on the catwalks of Gianfranco Ferre, Pringle of Scotland, Les Copains and Aquilano Rimondi in the Milan Fashion Week. Addison Gill was also at the Paris Fashion Week walking for luminaries Giambattista Valli, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Barbara Biu.

Addison Gill was interviewed by Daniel Peddle for Favorite Faces in the New York Fashion Week, who chose Gill as one of the new models worth remembering. In the March 2009 issue of V Magazine, Addison Gill was photographed by no less than Paul Rowland, Supreme Agency founder and beauty aesthetic photographer, who described her as “a classic beauty with a twist.” In the same month, Addison did a stint for Benetton a week after flying in from the Toronto Fashion Week. Just 16 years old and only more than a year in the industry, Addison Gill is working the fashion circuit like a seasoned pro, showing a lot of potential in creating a big name in the international fashion arena.

Addison Gill is currently in 11th grade at the Assumption College in Brantford, Ontario. Although having not to stop school is stressful Addison Gill tries to make the most of what both the fashion and academic worlds bring. Her jet-setting lifestyle allows her to visit museums and churches as a way to make up for some requirements in school when Addison Gill needs to be away. Addison Gill e-mails her homework dutifully and maintains a good average, always keeping in mind the value of a good education. Addison says, “If I weren’t a model, I’d be a historian.”

They are careful not to get overboard on the partying, though Addison admits to just being a regular school girl who wouldn’t spend all her extra time painting the town red.
