Summer Revisited – Mert & Marcus pay homage to a 1989 Steven Meisel shoot with their latest work for Vogue Paris’ June-July cover shoot. Starring Isabeli Fontana as an oversexed beauty, the images celebrate what the French call canicule–a period of the hottest summer days. Styled by editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt in colorful pieces from the likes of Prada, Moschino and Emilio Pucci, Isabeli steams up M&M’s lens with male model Clément Chabernaud by her side. The June/July cover of Vogue Paris features Brazilian beauty Isabeli Fontana as photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (note that this is their second consecutive Vogue Paris cover for Emmanuelle Alt). Inside we are promised a sun drenched fantasy: "Escale en Grèce — Ses iles, ses mythes, ses heroes, ses plaisirs," or in English, "Stopover in Greece — Its islands, its myths, its heroes, its pleasures." I like the color scheme, it calls attention to Fontana's eyes beautifully. Isabeli Fontana VOGUE Paris June/July 2011

Summer is definitely my favorite time for color, and model Isabeli Fontana is my new favorite model to wear it. Photography team Mert and Marcus truly captured the life of the color in this recent editorial for Vogue Paris. Isabeli is caught up in some steamy action in each frame, yet my eyes cannot retreat from the drama of the clothing. Isabeli Fontana VOGUE Paris June/July 2011
The use of pattern and color in these almost-sepia-toned pictures gives them a depth and a story of their own. Ever a huge fan of Emmanuelle Alt’s styling ways, she successfully proved that there are many more means to sex appeal this season than simply sporting black on black. -Jacqueline Nicole Isabeli Fontana VOGUE Paris June/July 2011
Emmanuelle Alt’s rein at Vogue Paris is catching its stride, and for her third cover, Alt has chosen model Isabeli Fontana. Fontani may not be Gisele or Kate, but she’s no stranger to the spotlight. Isabeli Fontana VOGUE Paris June/July 2011
The model has already appeared on the cover of French Vogue, as well as being the face of French luxury house Hermès in a campaign lensed by the one and only Richard Avedon. What do you think of the June cover? The color of that dress is to die for, no?
